Review of Barfi 2: A Gentle Companion for the Soul
The Barfi 2 series is a tender collection that carries its own unique fragrance of warmth, faith, and everyday beauty. Each story is a gentle reminder that life’s sweetest lessons are often found in the quiet corners of our days.
    Stories of Motherhood
The series beautifully captures the essence of being a mother: the laughter of children echoing through a home, the small hands reaching out for comfort, and the joy of watching little ones discover the world. These narratives are not grand or dramatic—they are intimate, heartwarming, and deeply relatable. They remind us that motherhood is not only about responsibility but also about savoring the fleeting, golden moments of togetherness.
    Lessons in Stillness
Equally moving are the reflections on solitude and quiet time. The stories invite readers to pause, breathe, and notice the lessons hidden in silence—the way a sunset teaches patience or how a gentle breeze whispers gratitude. In these moments, the series encourages us to embrace stillness as a gift, not an absence.
    The Beauty of Creation
Threaded through every page is an appreciation for the unfaltering beauty of Allah’s creation. Whether it is the majesty of the stars, the rhythm of the ocean, or the delicate unfolding of a flower, the series reminds us that divine artistry surrounds us constantly. It is a call to see the world not just with our eyes but with our hearts.
    Why It Resonates
What makes Barfi 2 so special is its ability to transform ordinary experiences into extraordinary reflections. It is not just a book to read—it is a companion to keep close, a gentle nudge to cherish family, honor faith, and celebrate the sweetness of life’s simple blessings.

Barfi Volume 2 is a delightful collection of stories, poems and anecdotes that kept me rooted for 2 consecutive days. Pieces to watch out for are Waheeda Joosabs poem, Milkshake Justice, and Kebab me Hadda, which nearly tore open the stitches to my recent surgery. Maybe it was the after effects of anaesthtic but I could not stop laughing at the truthfulness of it all. I’m a difficult reader to please and sometimes won’t hesitate to put a book down if it doesn’t appeal to me. I must appreciate the authors of this collection for their bravery and absolute commitment to entertaining and educating readers by sharing their stories. Each piece in the book has a different lesson to share and reminds us that improving ourselves requires
consciousness and awareness consistently. Every author has poured from their souls, each adding ingredients to a Barfi that will leave a long lasting sweetness. Who needs a chicken soup when there’s Barfi on the menu anyway?

  3. Lead-in Lady

Barfi 2 is a mixture of emotion, observation, and triumph served in a tray of accessibility and simplicity. The stories would resonate with a wide range of individuals and would also provide insight into the lives of those who endured loss, who care for children and families and who have had to “find themselves” amongst their responsibilities.

My own contribution, ‘The Quotes’ was a deeply personal account and I would imagine the same for other contributors. I quite enjoyed ‘The Gift That Outlived Her’ and ‘My Tea,’ the latter which brewed thoughts of the grave political injustices of the world that are often facilitated by our acts of appeasement.

It is a book by people, for people and is a valuable purchase!
