Description

After a painful divorce and a shattered heart, Inara Habib retreats to the quiet shores of Türkiye to rebuild her life. Surrounded by a found family and immersed in quiet routines, she isn’t looking for love — but it arrives anyway, in the form of Kareem Al Ajmal.

Kareem offers her a second chance at happiness, but with it comes the weight of his past and the storms he’s never truly faced.

As the cracks in their relationship begin to show, Inara must navigate the heartbreak of unmet expectations, emotional upheaval, and the fragile hope of healing yet again. Tuqburni – Bury Me Softly is a soulful exploration of love’s power to wound and to
restore, to break and to remake. A deeply human story of pain and devotion — where even goodbye becomes a sacred promise.

Beautifully written … I visited every emotion possible …even some I didn’t know I had … so enlightening…especially about untreated ADHD …Infrastructure a strong and beautiful woman stood by her Kareem till the very end …The Almighty took Kareem away when he was the best version of himself …May The Almighty grant all the Kareems of this world The Highest Stages in Jannatul Firdose and May He Grant all the Inaras of this world lots of Sabr …Ameen…..

The story is told through the eyes of Inara, a young 42-year-old woman navigating the emotional terrain of heartbreak in its true sense. What really stood out to me was the way the setting in Turkey came alive – a setting rendered so vividly that it feels almost tangible. One can actually feel the atmosphere whilst soaking in every detail. I absolutely loved that part of the book.
Inara’s personal journey, particularly her confrontation with the trauma of divorce and later loss of her beloved Kareem, resonates deeply with readers who have endured similar emotional upheavals. Her experience reflects what could be described metaphorically as “walking a long journey through darkness,” yet her emotional intelligence and maturity remain strikingly profound throughout.
The character of Kareem, the other central figure, is equally well-developed. His relationship with Inara is portrayed with emotional depth and maturity, offering a refreshing representation of romantic engagement marked by mutual respect and authenticity – despite the odds. Inara holds Kareem close to her heart, and as their story unfolds, it tugs at your heartstrings in a way that’s both painful and beautiful.
What I also appreciated was the strong support system Inara has—especially her friendships, which are comforting and full of love. The story also touches on how cross-cultural relationships can thrive when there is openness and respect. And throughout all the ups and downs, Inara holds tightly to her faith in God, which gives the story a deeper spiritual layer.
One can actually feel the very real, ‘raw’ reality of life and the unexpected twists and turns that so many of us have navigated within our own lives through similar life events.
Yes, life can break your heart. But this story gently reminds us that sometimes, not having lived or loved at all can be even more heartbreaking.

A moving story about love, loss, and what it means to rebuild. It will especially appeal to readers who enjoy emotionally rich reads, with a strong female protagonist, realistic relational conflicts, and themes of healing. The prose and setting offer comfort, the emotional honesty gives it weight. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this book.

Just finished reading TUQBURNI last night. Took a few days, beautiful read. A must read for all types of women and men. Makes the fluttering flutter more, the Arabic terms to call on a loved one, making true love ever so beautiful. Makes me want to travel to all these wonderful places Turkiye, Kuwait, Bulgaria… making memories with my loved ones. Our aim to get closer to Allah, be it good days or bad days, turn to Allah, pray on your musallah or sejjade as mentioned in Tuqburni, tears of happiness, sorrow, heartache and hope. Never leave salaah. It’s our call to success. Our end to this Duniya…may we have a good ending and most importantly loving, caring people around us to fulfil our last rites and burial…Really, it’s a book you can reread and reread.

Subhanallah, Tugburni – Bury me Softly was truly a wholesome read that tugged at my heartstrings. Clearly, much of the content was a reflection of the author’s personal journey, modified and played out in the characters she created. The turbulence, the pleasures, the relationships she formed on foreign soil, her search for answers and, finally, the beautiful, satisfying and meaningful love she found, together with the peace and serenity in her pious connection with Allah SWT.
Truly intriguing for me was the culture and the language so beautifully relayed, and the destinations just encompassed it all.
Well done, Nasreen… you couldn’t have written it better than this. Your chapters gripped my attention and kept me ‘buried’ for a good while – that’s proof of a good book, Alhamdullilah.
May you forever be blessed with many more inspirations to keep your fans wanting more. Know that I can’t wait for the next adventure, insh’allah, ameen.

Recommended reading indeed! What a beautiful and heartbreaking story! I was impressed by the descriptions of the characters in the book and the sketch of the terrain of places visited by Inara in the book. The twists in the story really makes the reader emotionally involved with Inara’s experiences. The ending of the story where there is the reconnection of the love between the couple , the passing of Kareem and the devastation felt by Inara is palpable. I felt a deep sadness for Inara in her loss of her beloved and the abrupt ending to a future she sacrificed so much for. Inara is a woman of courage, strength, patience and great will power. Well done, Nasreen.
