AMWASA Review Policy

Upholding Integrity, Respect, and Professionalism

At AMWASA, we welcome thoughtful and honest reviews of the books we feature. Our platform exists to uplift Muslim authors, promote wholesome literature, and create a safe space for readers and writers alike. In keeping with our values and Islamic principles of fairness (ʿadl) and respect for the honour (ʿird) of others, we ask that all reviews adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Focus on the Book, the storyline, the characters

Reviews must pertain solely to the content of the book – its themes, writing style, plot, characters, and overall impact.
We do not accept reviews that offer personal insights which do not pertain to the book itself. All reviews must remain focused on the content, themes, and literary merit of the work.

Comments that include personal information about any individual, or are intended to shame, defame, or cause harm, will not be approved and may be reported if necessary. AMWASA reserves the right to block repeat offenders.

2. Maintain Respectful Language

All reviews must be written in a respectful and dignified manner, free from:

  • Foul language or vulgar expressions.
  • Sarcasm, mockery, or hurtful tone.
  • Slander, backbiting, or personal attacks.

The Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent.” (Bukhari & Muslim)

3. Offer Constructive Feedback

If you wish to critique the book, please do so constructively. Thoughtful criticism that helps readers and authors grow is welcome. We encourage reviewers to:

  • Highlight both strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Express opinions in a balanced and polite way.

4. No Spoilers Without Warning

Out of courtesy to other readers, please avoid revealing key plot points or spoilers. If you must, kindly include a clear spoiler warning with the words “Spoiler Alert” at the start of your review.

5. AMWASA’s Right to Moderate

AMWASA reserves the right to:

  • Decline to publish any review that does not meet these guidelines.
  • Edit reviews for clarity, grammar, or to remove sensitive content while retaining the reviewer’s overall message.

6. Upholding a Safe and Positive Community

Our mission is to foster a reading environment where Muslim values are honoured, where authors are respected, and where literature can flourish in a way that uplifts the soul. We ask our community to help us maintain this spirit through every review submitted.

Thank you for being part of the AMWASA community.
May Allah SWT bless your words, your intentions, and your literary journey.
